Alice (Blauvelt) Boyce, of Gun Lake, left this world suddenly of natural causes, after a remarkable 96 years on February 23, 2021. She was born August 7, 1924 to Clyde Waldo “Harry” and Hazel W. (Bourdo) Blauvelt. She grew up in Orangeville Township and was one of nine children. She married David F. Boyce on November 4, 1945. She lived on Gun Lake for 67 years where they raised their two sons. She is survived by Garrison David Boyce (Donald J. Laier) and son, Michael Ray Boyce (Linda Liceaga Boyce); two grandchildren, Darrin Boyce and Danielle (Boyce) Latta (Corrie Latta). She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David F. Boyce; brothers, Ralph (Bud) Blauvelt, Leo N. Blauvelt, Clyde J. Blauvelt, Rolland R. Blauvelt, Kennith W. Blauvelt, and sisters, Margret L. Blauvelt, Dorothy E. (Blauvelt) Hoekstra; two half brothers, Cecil M. Morse and Ray Morse. Alice was a gracious, kind, loving mother, grandmother and sister and easily made friends of all she met. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, socialize and keep up with the world and she was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. She was a dedicated lifelong friend of 90 years to Francis (Reisen) Bartholomew.
