Heinzelman, Anne Elaine of Paw Paw 4/29/44 - 5/23/15 Anne Elaine Heinzelman, age 71, went peacefully, at Rose Arbor Hospice, May 23, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents Richard V. and Roberta H. Heinzelman. She is survived by her brothers: Richard B. (Peg) of Paw Paw and Jim of Mattawan; nephews: Michael (Kim) of Connecticut, Robert (Andrea) of Paw Paw, and niece Jessica (John) of Kentucky, and her 8 great nieces and nephews. Anne graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1962. She took several courses from Adrian College and W.M.U. She began working at John F. Kennedy Center with mentally impaired children in 1965, and continued working with this population until 2004 when she retired from Kalamazoo Public Schools. She also worked for Residential Opportunities Incorporated, Kalamazoo County Family & Children Services, Respite House in Parchment and Michigan Special Olympics. Anne was given an award for being on the team that started Special Olympics in Kalamazoo. She loved family camping and her favorite spot was Ludington State Park. Anne loved her many pets over the years and especially loved watching the deer and the ducks which frequented her yard. She enjoyed photography and working on photo-related projects on her computer. Ancestry.com became a favorite haunt on the Internet and she enjoyed not only researching her own birth and adoptive families but also those of family and friends. The life of Anne Elaine Heinzelman will be celebrated with a memorial service on Sunday, July 19th, 2:00pm at Milham Park 400 E. Kilgore Road Kalamazoo. In lieu of flowers Anne asked for donations to be made to Michigan Special Olympics, SPCA or Rose Arbor of Kalamazoo.
