Baker, Arthur James "Jim" 9/25/1946 - 8/15/2016 Fulton Baker, Arthur James "Jim", of Fulton passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 in Fulton, MI. He was born September 25, 1946 in Kalamazoo, MI the oldest of 8 children born to the late Arthur James Baker and Anna F. (Holewa) Baker and was raised in Parchment, MI. Jim enlisted in the Navy in October 1963. Upon returning from Vietnam, he continued to serve his countryand ultimately retired with the Michigan National Guard. He also worked for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years. He is predeceased by his parents and four brothers: Stan, Gene, Jerry and Tony. He is survived by the love of his life, Wanda Gayle (Bishop) Baker; one brother, John, and two sisters, Mary Ann (John) and Ann Marie (aka Pinky); 5 children: Mike (Jane) Holewa, Cheryl Campbell, Tim (Daphne) Baker, Cindy (Brad) Hunter, and Zach (Brandy) Baker; 12 grandchildren: Kaitlynn (Josh), Denali, Randee (Madi), T.J., Krystal (Brian), Jonathan, Brittanie (Todd), Rhyan (Franchesca), Ben, Sophie, Violet, and Addison; and 6 great-grandchildren: Roxie, Jayce, Kalub, Julianna, Lexi, and Becca. He will also be deeply missed by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, friends, and especially by his loving dog Prissy. Jim loved visiting South Haven with his wife and writing their names in the sand, visiting Michigan lighthouses, and was an avid fisherman and golfer. They made numerous trips to Tennessee and North Carolina to visit family. More than anything, we will miss hearing our dad say "I love you more". In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Fulton Christian Church, 14108 East W Avenue, Fulton, MI with Pastor Noah Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Fulton Christian Church. The family extends special thanks to the Women's Fellowship group of the Fulton Christian Church for their hospitality, love, and support during the last week.
