Arthur Pursel

PURSEL, Arthur Galesburg Passed away April 20, 2012 at his home. Arthur was born Aug. 23, 1934 in Schoolcraft the son of George and Wilma (Fox) Pursel. He earned a Master's Degree in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University and stayed involved in agriculture his entire life. His working life included running a grain elevator in Climax, and being an agricultural loan officer in both Kalamazoo and Dowagiac and a Realtor in Kalamazoo. He dedicated his personal time to family, friends and neighbors as well as his own farm. He served 11 years as Director of the Kalamazoo Soil Conservation District. Arthur was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline (Young) Pursel. He is survived by his son Keith M. Pursel, his wife Kathryn and grandson Michael of Brunswick, OH and son Kevin J. Pursel of Green Bay, WI. A memorial service will be held 11am Tuesday April 24, 2012 with a visitation before from 9 to11am at the Schoolcraft United Methodist Church.
