Barbara Ann Leverette, age 88, of Marina, California, passed away 5-22-21 at home.
She was born to the late Jack Austin Brown and Nona Marie Sanne in Lake Charles, Louisiana on 4-22-33. Barbara graduated high school and became a licensed practical nurse.
She married the late Homer Hayward Leverette and they lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan as well as other cities and states and in London, England and in Panama. Barbara is survived by her 2 children: John Allen Leverette of Marina, California and Jacques Leverette of Medina, Ohio. She is also survived by her 5 grandsons and 2 great grandchildren. Barb was predeceased by her loving husband in 2005 and by her son Homer “Hank” Leverette in 2020.
Barb loved spending time with her sons and grandsons. She loved to cook delicious meals for her family and enjoyed buying gifts for her sons and grandsons and two daughters in law. She was a very generous person and created much laughter- filled family feasts which will not be forgotten.
She worked as an LPN in a nursing home in Kalamazoo, Michigan and worked in a hospital in Panama.
A private ceremony will be held in September ,2021 at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, Michigan.
