PERKINS, Barbara Jean (Bohannon) Much loved Mother, Sister, Grandmother and friend died February 12th at Kairos Dwelling after a brief illness. Her infectious, cheery disposition, in spite of everything life threw at her, will be remembered by all who knew and loved her! Barbara was born in Lawton MI on May 31, 1930 to Clifford and Florence "Pinky" Bohannon, who both preceded her in death. Barbara was the Assistant County Treasurer for Van Buren County for many years until her retirement in 1995. Since retiring she enjoyed traveling, her grandkids, gardening, cooking, and her cat "Shadow". She is survived by son Lawrence (Kelly) Perkins of Savannah GA, sisters Georgia (Mike) Laky of Boise ID and Sally (Bob) Krajewski of Irving TX, 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 5 nieces and nephews, and her lifelong friend Laveta Gregurich. She was preceded in death by her brother Clifford and her daughters Brenda Bright and Margo Strayer. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements for a summer memorial service will be announced at a later date.
