STOOPS, Beatrice Richland Bea passed away Sunday April 1, 2012 at Borgess Medical Center. Bea was born October 7, 1932 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Frank and Bertha (O'Connell) Stevens. On December 19, 1950 she married Ted Stoops who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Frank, Dick, Wally and her twin sister Margaret Fergson. Bea will be remembered for her love of sewing and decorating. She was an excellent seamstress who could make anything from a swimsuit to a tuxedo. She loved Country Music and lived for several years in Nashville Tennessee where she made many friends in the music industry. She was an avid collector of all things Disney, especially anything Snow White themed. She was so well known for her love of Snow White, that while living in Nashville, songwriter Carol Smith wrote and recorded the song "God Bless Snow White" in her honor. Surviving are: her children Matt (Laura) Stoops of Kalamazoo, Kathy (Jerry) Molitor of South Haven, her Grandchildren, Erin (Mark) Sutherland and Ian and Ava Stoops, all of Kalamazoo and a brother Bob of Arizona. She will also be greatly missed by her beloved Yorkie, "Song". In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday April 11, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 504 South Westnedge with Reverends Ken Johnson and Jake Lehman officiating.
