Ben Allgor was a loving father and “pa”. Ben enjoyed many things and lived a fulfilled life. After attending high school, he went into the service and served in the Army where he worked in the Guided Missile Program. After serving his country, he worked for National Waterlift for a number of years before working at Allen Test Products as VP engineering, senior staff scientist for 30 years. Ben even earned multiple patents while working at Allen Test Products. Ben was a man of many talents. He wanted to take his career to the next level and started his own consulting business as a professional engineer. In 1976, he built his own computer and when he was in his 40’s, he built his own house for his family in Paw Paw where they lived for 30 years. Ben had a passion for running and completed 8 marathons and did multiple stride for life 100 mile runs. He also loved to read and was always striving to learn more.
Clarence “Ben” Allgor of Vicksburg, MI, passed away on May 13, 2019 at the age of 81 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his children: Todd and Janie Allgor, Tim Allgor, Jeff (Donna) Boynton; grandchildren: Tara Storteboom, Alison Beach, Alicia Stone, Jenna Allgor, Christopher Boynton, Darrin Deal; great-grandsons: Aiden Deal, Myles Stone; and sister: Dora Riemers. Ben is preceded in death by his loving wife; Connie Allgor; and parents: Clarence and Virginia.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 24 at 1:00 pm at the Constantine United Methodist Church, 285 White Pigeon St. Constantine, MI 49042.
