Betty Jane (Hoover) McLane, age 94, of Kalamazoo, previously of Volinia Township, passed away late Saturday morning on September 15, 2018.
Betty was born November 5, 1923, the daughter of John C. and Maude Agnes (Berry) Hoover in South Bend , IN. She was one of eight children: four sisters and three brothers who precede her.
On February 28, 1954, she married Donald B. McLane in South Bend, Indiana. They were married for 39 years before Donald’s passing on March 16, 1993. Together they had three daughters: Carol (James) Name of Dowagiac, Louellen (Lynn) Horn of Schoolcraft, and Paulena (Vaughan) Kubert who is preceded and three sons: Dennis J. (Helen) McLane of Sugarland, TX, Michael V. (Paula) McLane of Houston, TX, and Larry McLane who is preceded.
Betty is survived by two daughters and two sons, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was a member of the Marcellus Bunco Club and was member of Community of Christ which is formally known as Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Dowagiac. Betty enjoyed tending to her flower garden and caring for her hummingbirds. She enjoyed listening to Gospel hymns and music from the 1930’s. She spent most of her time reading and loved spending time with her family and seeing her grandchildren thrive and flourish.
The family would like to welcome friends for visitation services on Thursday, September 20, 2018, from 5:00-7:00 PM, funeral service on Friday, September 21, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Mater-Ralston Funeral Home with burial services to follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery in Cass County.
