Beverly J. Ayres

Beverly Joyce (Klomp) Ayres died peacefully on May 23rd, 2024, with her family and friends beside her. Beverly was born on March 15th, 1934, in Kalamazoo to John and Harriot (Benedict) Klomp. 

Beverly was married for 59 years to Harold Richard Ayres, who passed away in 2011. The two loved to go antiquing together. They had three daughters Wanda Jean Lesterman, Bonnie Elizabeth Ayres, and Mary Ann Ayres. 

Beverly worked as a meat wrapper at Kroger’s for several years. She was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union. Beverly loved to go to the casino with her sister-in-law and friend, Gloria Ayres. She loved playing Cribbage and watching poker and golf on television. Beverly had a love for working outside in her yard. When she wasn’t outside, Beverly enjoyed cooking. Beverly was always willing to help anyone who needed her. 

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ayres, and her parents, John and Harriot Klomp.

Left to honor Beverly’s memory are her daughters, Wanda Jean Lesterman and Bonnie Elizabeth Ayres. Two grandchildren, Jenny (Timothy) Barker and Angela Vermeulen. Four great-grandchildren, Devin Vermeulen, Tyler Anthony, Rhiannon Wright, Cylie (Christopher) Cook, as well as six great-great-grandchildren, Sophie Vermeulen, Freyja Bunker, Penelope Wright, Kendalynn Stacy, and Aubrielle and Viviana Cook.

Beverly was a great wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be so missed and never forgotten. 

Following her wishes, cremation has taken place. A service will be held at a later date.
