Beverly May Harvey

HARVEY, Beverly May Kalamazoo Beverly was born in Kalamazoo, on May 3, 1925, the daughter of the late Earl and Marie (Howland) Slover. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Western Michigan University and worked at Gilmore's Dept. Store, while her husband finished college. Beverly was married to the love of her life, Richard, on December 21 ,1946. He preceded her in death, December 11,2004. They were members of Westwood United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Kandace (David) Wilson and Kit (Rick) Maurer, of Kalamazoo; three grandsons, Joshua Maurer, of Kalamazoo, Donovan Wilson, of Kalamazoo, Gavin (Linda) Maurer, of Gainesville, FL. Four great-granddaughters; Hailey and Sierra Maurer, of Kalamazoo, Taylor and Tessa Maurer, of Gainesville, FL, and a sister Marie (Jack) Steele, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Ryan Wilson and three brothers Donny (infant), Dick and Earl "Bus", and one sister Francis (Jackie) Hamlin. A memorial service is being planned for Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00- 11:00 a.m. The service will be held at Westwood United Methodist Church, 538 Nichols Road. A light lunch will follow. lnterment will be officiated by Pastor Wayne Price, at Mt. Everest Cemetery. ln lieu of flowers donations may be directed to, the Harvey Fund c/o Westwood United Methodist Church, Kalamazoo, or the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road S.W.; Liburn, GA 30047, in Beverly's memory.
