Beverly Joan Mott Jarrett went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 6th, 2014. Born on April 19th 1927 in Canton, New York, Bev was the daughter of Ansel DeArchie Mott and Gladys Gray Mott. She graduated from Norwood (NY) High School and attended Plattsburg State Teachers College where she earned a degree as a Registered Nurse in March, 1947. She worked as an RN in Kalamazoo for many years, most enjoying her work in Post-Partum at Bronson Hospital. During her long career she also worked in New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Florida.
She married Herbert C. Jarrett on September 17th, 1947, who survives. She is also survived by her children, Kimberly A. (Mark) Woolley of Delton and S.D. Jay Jarrett of Climax. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Matthew (Alisha) Woolley and Kristen Woolley (and fiancé Josh VanderWeide).
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Shirley Stockwell, and her favorite daughter-in-law Janice Jarrett.
Bev was a member of Nashille United Methodist Curch. She was a past member of Loyalty Chapter #497 of OES in Kalamazoo and enjoyed volunteering at the Barry County Commission on Aging senior dining site at Faith United Church (Delton) as well as at the Commodities Distribution Center (Hickory Corners). She also liked to knit, do crossword puzzles, read, and enjoy her grandchildren. She also liked to write poetry and was regarded by her friends and family for her Christmas poems.
Per her wishes, there will be no visitation and cremation has already occurred. Services will be held at 1pm Monday June 9, 2014 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
