On the morning of August 7, 2020, Beverly Jean Myers passed away at the age of 93 just four days away from celebrating her 94th birthday, She was born August 11, 1926, to Timothy Paul and Esther Mae Myers . She was preceded in death by her sisters and their spouses June Louise (Bernard} Deaton and Mary Lou (Jeff) LePard and her nephews Jeffrey and David LePard.
Jean grew up in Kalamazoo and attended Kalamazoo Central High. She was a fiercely independent woman who dedicated 50 years to a career as an executive secretary at Kalamazoo Laundry and Continental Linen Service.
She had refined tastes and was admired for her talents in interior decorating, dressing well and creating delicious desserts. She was best known for her cookies, cakes and fudge and was always a welcome sight with her treats in tow. In her retirement spent living at Spring Manor in Portage she was appreciated for her confectionery contributions and hosting coffee hour.
She was a strong presence in her extended family and a favorite Aunt who enjoyed an especially close relationship with her only niece Dolly (Bob) Williams who survives. The two managed their weekly shopping expeditions together and spent time planning and preparing for family gatherings. She is survived by her nephews Timothy (Peg) Deaton, Bernard (Deborah) Deaton, Russel (Becky) Deaton, Dennis (Charlotte) LePard and many great nieces and nephews and their children.
Her final days were spent at Alamo Nursing Home where the exceptional care was greatly appreciated by her family.
Graveside service will be held for family at a later date.
