Beverly Jean Porter passed away peacefully on Friday November 3, 2023, at her home in Portage, Michigan. She was born Beverly Jean Cutshaw in Kalamazoo, the daughter of James and Marie (Jackson) Cutshaw, on June 6, 1926. When Bev was in the fourth grade the family moved to a farm in Richland and she graduated as a Salutatorian from Richland High School.
Bev attended Cosmetology School in Kalamazoo, and used her many talents to make many women feel beautiful. Bev went on to use her skills in the cosmetic department of Gilmores Department Store for over 30 years. Bev loved her home, her summer home at Gun Lake, and her skills with design were on display there, and in her style with clothes, always looking her best when she went anywhere.
Bev is survived by her three daughters, Lynne Ritchie, Pamela (Robert) Scott, and Kim (Ed Hageman) Porter. Also surviving are her grandchildern, Gene Ritchie, Robert Ritchie, Kelly Scott, Christopher Porter, and Amy Porter. Bev also had six great grand children Alexxis Hurley, Camron Ritchie, Cory Ritchie, Alexander Johnson, Drake Johnson, and Tatum Johnson.
Bev was preceded in death by her seven siblings: Albert Cutshaw, Richard Cutshaw, Dorthea Wade, Doris Harback, Phillip Cutshaw, James Cutshaw and Patricia Cutshaw, a grandson Andrew Postema, Christopers’ wife Laila Porter, and several close girlfriends.

Bev has requested that there be no service, and no memorials. The family wishes to thank the staff of Centrica and all the nurses and sitters that came to be with Bev, especially Emmy. They made her passing so peaceful.
