Carlo Combs

Carlo Combs, 78, passed away on the 24th of October 2014 at his home in Portage, MI following a long illness. He was born on May 5th 1936 in Kalamazoo, MI to William Howard and Edivilla (Premo) Combs. Carlo grew up in Portage, MI and graduated from Portage Central High School in 1955. After high school he joined the Marine Corps in 1956 and served for 4 years. He was discharged in 1960. He began work as a Tool & Die Maker retiring after 42 years. Carlo married Marjorie (Midge) Brimhall in 1961 in Kalamazoo, MI. They were happily married for 53 years. Carlo was a member of the Portage Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He enjoyed gardening, old car shows, woodworking, crossword puzzles & reading. Carlo was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Combs of Portage, MI; His daughter Cynthia (Brock) Taylor of Muskegon, MI; Kevin (Rose) Combs of China; Carissa (Benjamin) Harrington of Hart, MI and his sister Yolanda (Roger) Smith of Kalamazoo, MI. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren along with other relatives. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7415 Oakland Dr. Portage, MI on November 15th 2014 at 3:00pm. The family will be greeting friends and relatives before and after the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Marjorie Combs, 2624 Rolling Hill Ave. Portage, MI 49024 or to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at the above address.
