Carol Crouch (Fales) passed away peacefully under hospice care at her home in Schoolcraft, MI on December 17, 2022, following a short illness.
Carol was born on August 3, 1948, in Allegan, Mich., to Virginia (Lewis) and Laurel A “Bill” Fales. She was a 1966 graduate of Plainwell High School and attended numerous classes at KVCC throughout her life. She worked several jobs ranging from secretarial pool at the Pentagon to chemical technician at Cyanamid, eventually finding her forte as the Beaver Research Office Manager. She retired after 23 years with the company.
Her son Jason Crouch was born December of 1971 and she married her soulmate and love of her life Paul Crouch on May 2, 1981. It was as a Mom and Grandmother that she really found her groove and was commonly known as Mama C., Ma, or Grandma to most of her friends, family, and even acquaintances. As a lifelong sports fan you could often find her attending the games of her son and grandchildren (she even took on the role of Treasurer for AYSO while her grandkids played soccer) or rooting on the MSU Spartans and the New Orleans Saints (you could not convince her that anybody besides Drew Brees is the greatest QB of all time). Not only was Carol proud of her family, but she also took great pride in the fact that she was a recovering Alcoholic who was 35+ years sober.
She is survived by her son Jason, grandchildren Hayden and Chloe Crouch, her brother Laurel A “Bill Fales Jr. of Zeeland, and her daughter in law (Jason’s ex-wife) Yvonne Outman of Three Rivers.
She was preceded in her passing by her husband Paul, parents Virginia and Bill Fales, as well as her sisters Betty Heilman and Marjorie Anson.
Pursuant to her wishes she will be cremated and there will be a Celebration of her Life on February 5, 2023, starting at 1 p.m. at her home in Schoolcraft (6239 Sunshine Ave, Schoolcraft, MI 49087). All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers she requested donations be given to the Schoolcraft Athletic Boosters (PO Box 246 Schoolcraft, MI 49087) or Centrica Hospice Care. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
While at www.amsfuneralhomes.com please take time to sign Carol’s guestbook and/or share a memory with her family.
The Crouch family is being cared for by the Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Homes and Cremation Society, 129 South Grand Street, Schoolcraft, MI 49087. 269-679-5622.
