Carol Jane Plantier

Carol Jane Plantier (née Decker), of Vicksburg passed peacefully from this world on December 18, 2013 surrounded by her family. The second daughter born to Carl and Elizabeth Decker, Carol was raised near Barton Lake with her four sisters and graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1965. Carol then attended Western Michigan University where she began to date Lloyd Plantier, the man that she would marry on April 11, 1970 following their graduations. Carol would share the remaining forty-three years of her life with Lloyd and the family that they created. Starting with the company in 1970, Carol served as a cost accounting clerk with Welch Foods, Inc in Lawton, MI for thirty-four years prior to her retirement. A lover of language and knowledge, Carol was an avid reader and often played word games. She traveled extensively with her family and, in later years, with her husband. Carol is survived by her loving family: her husband, Lloyd; her children: Melissa Plantier (Flint, MI) , Eric Plantier (Montclair, NJ) and his wife, Donna; her sisters: Carla Cox (Kalamazoo, MI), Caryn Zonyk (Vicksburg, MI), Cheri Rogers (Knoxville, TN) and Cindy Wilson (Vicksburg, MI); and her loving in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.
