Carole Ann Leach

Carole graduated from Loy Norrix high school in 1963. Carole met Bill on a blind date when she was a senior. They were married on June 20, 1964.  They lived in Kalamazoo and later moved to Portage. 

Carole was an avid golfer. She was the woman’s club champion at Heritage Ridge Golf Club.  She always enjoyed bowling, reading and loved her card and board games – she was a fierce competitor at words with friends. She was always at the children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and enjoyed being outdoors in the sunshine.  For 25 years, Carole and Bill were snowbirds in Hobe Sound Florida. She also enjoyed her pinochle club.

For 22 years she was co-owner of Residential Plumbing.  She worked hard and loved her family. Carole was known to be selfless, genuine, witty, charming, optimistic, competitive, compassionate, empathic, devoted, warm and comforting. Bill says that Carole made him who he is. She was his rock. Carole loved to travel and was always up for a trip. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years: Bill Leach; 3 children: Beth (John Sims), Bill Leach Jr., and Steven (Avril) Leach; 10 grandchildren: Raeanne, Kyle, Kodee, Logan, Tyler, Haley, Maylanah, Gavin, Colby, and Sophie; 2 great grandchildren: Griffin and Annistyn. She is also survived by her brother Lynn (Janet) Peterson and sister Debra Freed as well as several nieces and nephews.

Carole is preceded in passing by her parents and her brother-in-law Craig Freed.

A memorial service for Carole will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church; 5855 W Ave E, Vicksburg, MI 49097 with time for visiting beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.

Memorial donations can be made to St. Catherine’s of Siena El Sitio Ministry.
