Carolyn Lee Dailey of Portage, MI passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at the age of 79. She was born on December 20, 1941, in Pontiac, MI the daughter of Corwin and Lena “O’Brien” Woodard.
She graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1959, following graduation she studied for 2 years at Alma College. In 1973 she worked as an executive secretary for John E. Fetzer at Fetzer Broadcasting and later at The Fetzer Institute. On June 5, 1976, she married Larry Dailey. In the fall of 2001, she retired from The Fetzer Institute. She was a longtime member and supporter of the Inner Light Ministries of Austin, TX, she was a member of the Portage Garden Club, and a member of the Kalamazoo Ladies Library Club. During the cold Michigan winters, she loved to escape to her home in St. Pete, Florida with her husband, Larry.
Carolyn is preceded in her passing by her parents.
Left to cherish Carolyn’s loving memory is her husband of 45 years: Larry Dailey; children: Kimberly Lasher, Molly Dailey-Taboada, Larry Dailey Jr., Lisa, and Randy Dailey; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; in-laws: Paul and Darlene Kuiper; and her sister: Sue Woodard.
In accordance with Carolyn’s wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Avink Funeral Home & Cremation Society, 5975 Lover’s Ln, Portage, MI 49002, with a time for visiting starting at 1:00 p.m. until the time service at 1:30 p.m.
