Cassandra Lea Klosterman

Cassandra (Sandy) Lea Klosterman, age 53, passed away in her home on the night of January 2nd, 2015 with family members by her side. Sandy was diagnosed with colon cancer 4 years and 7 months ago when she was first given 4-6 months to live. Sandy was born in Ohio to Donald and Betty Butler where she lived for a short period of time before the family moved to Michigan. Sandy married Steve Klosterman on August 15th, 1986 and remained in Portage, MI for the rest of her life. She worked at WL Molding alongside her husband for 25 years until she was diagnosed and could no longer work every day. Sandy and Steve had one daughter, Amanda, on July 2nd, 1989. Sandy had a love for gardening, cooking and sunshine.Sandy leaves behind her husband Steve of 28 years, daughter Amanda, mother-in-law Thelma, father Donald, sisters Sabrina and Jessie, brother Donald Jr., sister-in-law Gloria and brother-in-law Buz. Sandy is preceded in death by mother Betty and father-in-law Wilbur. A celebration of life will be held at the Portage VFW 5855 on Monday January 5th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
