Charlene Ella Roseboom, age 87, of Marcellus, MI; passed away early Sunday, September 2, 2018.
Charlene was born November 11, 1930, in Kalamazoo, MI; the daughter of Lawrence E. Anspaugh and Ruth E. Waldron. She had four siblings; one sister: Joyce E Anspaugh of Kalamazoo, one brother: Lloyd Anspaugh of Kalamazoo, one step-sister: Rosalie Roseboom, and one step-brother Roy Anspaugh who preceeds her.
She married her high school sweetheart Pearlie D. Vanatti and were married for 18 years before separating yet remaining good friends. Then on June 27th, 1969, she married John C. Roseboom of Kalamazoo, in Jerusalem, OH and were married for 23 years before John passed.
Charlene moved to Marcellus in 1991 where she began attending Temple Baptist Church in Moorepark. To many Charlene was known as “Char”. She spent her life as a homemaker and enjoyed every moment she was able to spare spending time with her family. She enjoyed listening to Christian and Irish Gospel such as Danielle O’Donnell. Char was eclectic in her talents and could easily pick up new skills like playing any instrument, gardening, fishing, singing, and constantly found crafts to do whether it was inside or outdoor.
Surviving are her three daughters: Kathleen Vanatti of Deltona, FL, Rocky (Diane) Bacon of Vicksburg, Tammy Vanatti of Three Rivers, MI; seven grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded by her loving husband John C. Roseboom, her good friend and previous husband Pearlie D. Vanatti, and four siblings.
Visitation services will be held Thursday September 6, 2018, at 4:00- 7:00 PM with funeral services Friday, September 7, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Mater Ralston Funeral Home.
