Charles (Ray) Churchill, age 80, of Portage, MI passed away March 24, 2018
He was born January 26, 1938 in Penn township/Cass County, MI the son of Ray C. Churchill, and Ruth Ardel ( Elliott) Churchill. He is survived by wife of 60 years, Betty Joe Wilkinson Churchill, married January 26, 1958.
Charles was a Farmer and also a Truck Driver for the Cass County Road Commission and Sunstrand. He was a member of the Cass County FFA and the St. Joe county Old Engine Club. He enjoyed Fishing, farmers markets, and made and sold wind chimes 20 years. Ray also loved to dance, and was most proud of being a good grandfather.
Along with his wife Betty, he is survived by two sons, Al (Tammy) Churchill of Jones, MI and Joseph (Christie) Churchill of Edwardsburg, MI; four Daughters Lorrie (Tim) Utter of Alba, MI Ruth (Tracy) Utter of Portage, MI, Jeannette (Phil) Gray of Dowagiac, MI, and Jennifer (Mike) Romig of Edwardsburg; Two sisters Mildred Hillman of St. Joseph, MI, and Frances Perry of White Pigeon, MI; One brother Darwin L. (Gertrude) Churchill of Wisconsin Rapids, 14 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents ; one brother, David Churchill ; and one sister Esther King.
Memorial services will be held at Poe’s Newberg Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday April, 13 Memorial service at 11:00 AM
