Charles Dean Mann

Passed away at home surrounded by his family on May 6, 2011. He was born November 22, 1926 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the third son of Boston Sr. and Cora Mann. He served as an Army Paratrooper in WWII and was a member of the Comstock VFW Post #6252. On May 30, 1948 he married Phyllis Earl. Charles retired from the Sheet Metal Trade, Local #7 after 30 years of service. They spent their golden years mushrooming, fishing, dancing, playing cards and occasional casino trips as sno-birds in Florida. Along with Phyllis he leaves behind their two children, Vikki (Bruce) Brillhard of Minneapolis, MN and Chuck (Deb) Mann of Scotts; three grandchildren, Heath (Jeremy) Peacock, Hillary Henkel bot of Minneapolis, MN and Shelley Mann of Georgetown KY; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin Mann and five sisters, Fay, Beatrice, Hettie Jo, Bonnie and Sandy and favorite sister in-law, Connie; many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Boston Jr., James, Mac and Howard; sister, Dorothy and half-sister, Penny. At his request cremation has taken place and a graveside service will full military honors will take place on Thursday May 12, 2011 at 10:30 am at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. A luncheon will follow at the Comstock VFW Post # 6252 on East Michigan Ave in Comstock. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice Care of SW Michigan.
