Courter, Charlotte 4/26/1925 - 1/1/2018 Kalamazoo Charlotte Marie Courter (McCurdy) died quietly on January 1, 2018 in Kalamazoo, Michigan at the age of 92. Charlotte (Char) was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Reverend Wilbur (Bill) Courter. Char was born the only child of Arthur and Hazel McCurdy in Detroit MIchigan on April 26, 1925. Char lived for over 50 years in the Comstock, Michigan community. She was an organist and pianist, a rock in her faith and an active member of the United Methodist Church. She loved all kinds of music, animals, and people of all nationalities and walks of life. She loved to travel. Char had a gentle presence, was soft spoken and was unwaivering in her love for family, church, and community. She will be greatly missed. Char is survived by her brother-in-law, Eugene Dalebout, daughters Joyce Ann Long, Jacqueline Marie Courter, and Annette Louise Fortino, her son-in-law Robin Long, five grandchildren Jennifer Wall, Adrianne Natta, Aaron Rinker, Alexander Rinker, and Joseph Fortino, and two great grandchildren Travis Wall and Felix Natta. A memorial service and reception is scheduled for 2 p.m. on April 21, 2018 at Milwood United Methodist Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Charlotte's life.
