Cindy Jo Wilson

Cindy Jo – Decker Wilson Born August 10th, 1958, in Vicksburg Michigan passed away peacefully September 2nd, 2021. She is proceeded in death by her parents Carl and Elizabeth Decker, Her mother-in-law Jean Wilson, and older sister Carol Plantier. She is survived by her husband of 29 years Matthew Wilson of Vicksburg, Her son and Daughter-in-law Joe and Heather Glidden her grandchildren Liam and Grace Glidden of Portage, Mother and Father-in-law John and Linda Wilson of Vicksburg, Sisters Cheri and Mike Rogers of TN, Carla and Jim Cox of Portage, Caryn and Dan Zonyk of Vicksburg, and Brother-in-law Loyd Plantier of Vicksburg, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cindy began her career as a math tutor in the 80s at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She earned both an MBA and master’s in Education and retired in 2016 as a tenured professor teaching statistics and finite math. She loved teaching and helping people to learn. Beyond teaching her great loves in life included her family, friends, and dachshunds. She looked forward to days out shopping, going out to eat, scoring horseshoes, or gambling. She had many passions in life. She never passed on dessert, trash talked like a pro when playing cards or monopoly, loved listening to music of all kinds from Cat Stevens to classic rock and especially loved listening to friends play. Every year possibly Matt and Cindy made the trip to Eldora to watch one of their favorite Nascar races. She was a huge fan of the sport and own and operated a Nascar store, the checker flag in Vicksburg. Cindy was a woman with so much love to give and she gave it freely to those she knew. She will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched, and we are all better for having known her. Details regarding a celebration of life will be coming.
