Clare Gene Seaburg, of Schoolcraft passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the age of 93. Clare was born on March 16, 1927 in Cassopolis, MI. He was the son of Frank and Aletha (Sutherland) Seaburg. He graduated from Hartford High School. After high school he was drafted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He married Yvonne “Tee” Avery on September 15, 1950. Together they raised three children: Cherie, Cindee, and Ty. Clare was owned and operated Hydraulic Concrete Corp. His hobbies included fishing, bowling, playing cards and helping others. Clare was a member of the Schoolcraft United Methodist Church, Shriners, the Kalamazoo County Masonic Lodge and the West Street Poker Club. He is described by his family as selfless, independent and sometimes a bit strong-willed. Clare and Tee spent 24 years summering at Gravel Lake. Then every winter they would travel in their motorhome out to Arizona and stops in between. One of his favorite quotes was, “if you can’t do it right, then don’t do it at all.”
Clare is preceded in death by his wife: Yvonne “Tee”; one brother: Harry Seaburg; and one sister Ruth Klein.
He is survived by his three children: Cherie (John) Thorpe, of Gobles; Cindee (Garry) Moore, of Gobles; and Ty (Missy) Seaburg, of Schoolcraft; 11 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren with one more on the way. He is also survived by his sister: Linda Miling, of Comstock Park and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service and burial of his ashes will be held at a later date.
