It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Conrad ‘Dave’ David Formell on April 10, 2024, in Commerce, MI. Born on April 6,1943 in Detroit, MI.

Dave is survived by his children:  Donna Formell (Peter Pruett), Denise Arthurs (Mark), Dan Formell (Sofia), Andrea Gray, Patrice Brisbane (Bill); Grandchildren:  Lindsay Arthurs, Anne Arthurs, Tanner Gray, Sara Gray, Kaitlyn Simmonds, Megan Simmonds, Jeffery Simmonds & Emily Simmonds. Also surviving are his sister Jennie Lee Buckler (Warren), brother John Formell (Bev) and many nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by wife Patricia Formell, former wife Anne Braus/Formell; sisters Shirley Schmidt (Lajos) and Donna Correll (Roger); mother Dorothy and father Conrad Formell.

Dave will be remembered foremost for his love of family. He proudly served 4 years in the Navy and was a skilled tradesman at General Motors for 32 years. He was also known for being an avid reader and lover of films and television, especially historical and detective stories.  He also enjoyed listening to his favorite music- rock’n’roll, folk and country. In his midlife, Dave obtained a private pilot license and pursued his passion for flying small airplanes. In the fall he cheered on his favorite college and professional football teams and made the best homemade chocolate fudge that rivaled Mackinac Island’s!

A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 16 for immediate family to honor and remember Dave’s life.
