Dakota Dortch

Dakota James Charles Dortch, of Otsego, MI passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 22, 2022, at the age of 30. He was born on January 15, 1992 in Grand Rapids, Mi to John and Tammy (Kelly) Dortch. 

Dakota graduated from Otsego High School in 2010 where he enjoyed being apart of the football, wrestling, track and field, and the band. Following high school Dakota thoroughly enjoyed working at GameStop where his passion for video games could shine through. He also enjoyed building intricate legos and watching his favorite football teams play (Detroit Lions and Michigan State). 

He had a huge passion for Marvel and DC movies.  

Dakota was the go to fix anything type of guy. He took every challenge life threw at him with a smile and a thumbs up. Many will remember his soft smile, kind heart, wonderful sense of humor and his devotion and love to his family and friends. 

Dakota is survived by his father, John Dortch; mother, Tammy (Kelly) Dortch; sister, Cheyenne Dortch; and grandparents, James and Shari Dortch and Joyce Russell. As well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Raymond Russell; aunt, Donna Longstreet; cousin, Hunter Robirds. 

Dakota donated his body to the University of Michigan where we had hopes to help save someone else someday. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
