Daniel Anthony Atiah

After a heroic battle with cancer, Daniel Anthony Atiah (38) passed away surrounded by family, on October 9th, 2018. Born January 1, 1980 in Waltham, MA to Lori Bird (Stowe), the family soon moved to Kalamazoo, MI where Daniel was raised. He worked at Parker Hannifin as a lead injection molding set up and operator. He was an avid weight lifter, winning the Kalamazoo Strong Man Competition in the summer of 2017. Meeting his wife and "swolemate", Tosha Atiah, at their gym, Family Fitness, the two were united in marriage on April 13, 2018. Daniel was an amazing young man. He was witty, courageous, fun loving, friendly to all, and carried far more strength within, than physical statue could ever hold. He possessed a fierce devotion to both family and friends. The undying love and loyalty for his wife, mother, step-father, Aunt Ruthie and best friend, Steve Webb, were the pillars on which Daniel built his life. His bright, gorgeous smile lit up any room, as his warm hugs provided comfort and love for every moment. Daniel faced all of life's challenges with a positive attitude. No matter the obstacle, his infamous response was "I'm good". He was a beloved son, husband, step-dad, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife (Tosha Atiah), step-daughter (Briana Foghino), Mother and Step-Father (Lori and Lloyd Bird), step-brothers (Lloyd and Cory Bird), Aunts, Uncle, and cousins. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Daniel's life at The River, 517 Walbridge, Kalamazoo, MI from 4-6pm on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Casual attire is preferred and flowers can be sent to The River no later than 4pm on Friday October 19, 2018.
