David Lee Bushouse

David Lee Bushouse of Oshtemo, MI, passed away peacefully at home December 8, 2018. He was born August 9, 1942 in Kalamazoo, MI to Howard and Wilma (Ntcros) Bushouse and was a 1960 Graduate of Kalamazoo Central High. On May 8, 1964 he was united in marriage to Cynthia Boyce. As an Oshtemo Township Resident for over 60 years he served the community in many ways including; the Oshtemo Fire Department for 33 years and as fire chief for 11 years, sitting on many Oshtemo Township and state boards, as well as a trustee in the township. David was a member of the Oshtemo Rotary, St. Andrews Community Church, and participated in many mission trips to Central and South America over the years. David had many passions which included his grandchildren, God's Special People Camp, and serving the community in which he resided. David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cynthia, two children Keith Bushouse and Heather Bushouse, Six Grandchildren, Drew Bushouse, Dominic (Ashley) Bushouse, Dustin (Morgan) Bushouse, Brandon Weaver, Chloe Weaver, and Teagan Bushouse, Great-Granddaughters, Kinsley and Leighton Bushouse, along with many other family and dear friends. A visitation will be held Thursday December 13th from 5-8pm at Oshtemo Community Center at 6407 Parkview Ave. A memorial service will be held Friday December 14th by Rev. Jim Dyke at 11am at St. Andrews Community Church at 3631 Covington Drive, Kalamazoo with a visitation from 10-11am preceding the service and a luncheon to follow the service. The burial will take place on a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to God's Special People Camp P.O. Box 84 Oshtemo, MI 49077.
