David Allen Campbell

David Allen Campbell, 80, of Plainwell, Michigan, passed away on February 16, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Asahel and Marie Campbell on September 27, 1942. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and served as a crew chief in the Air Force at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada before returning to Michigan to start a family and business with his beloved Pat. David was a gifted musician, builder, realtor and broker. His personality was bigger than life and his smile lit up a room. He loved building cars (a ’37 Ford, ’57 Chevy Nomad and ’71 K5 Blazer), rode snowmobiles, and even raced motor-cross into his forties. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His memory lives on in his daughter Gail, son Paul, grandson Nathan (Sydney), great-grandson Baker, and dear dog Scarlett. David was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia (Rouse), sister Jeanne Campbell Lockwood, and companion Christina Langkamp. In accordance with the family’s wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on May 19, 2023, at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
