David T. Stuck, 88, passed away on March 12, 2013 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born on August 7, 1924 in Kalamazoo to Oliver J. and Clara Stuck.
Dave grew up in Kalamazoo and attended Kalamazoo Central High School graduating in 1941. After high school he enlisted in the army and served as an MP in England during World War II. Once discharged, he attended Western Michigan University, graduating with a degree in Business Administration in 1948. On June 19, 1948, he married Lois A. Greene and shortly thereafter moved to Three Rivers, MI.
In February of 1949, along with his father-in-law and brother-in-law, he started Fibre Converters in Three Rivers to manufacture laminated paperboard for automotive interior trim applications. In addition to his responsibilities at work, he became very active in the community through Jaycees, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Community Chest, Three Rivers Hospital Board, to name just a few. In 1971, he played a founding role in developing what today has become the Three Rivers Area Community Foundation and served as president for many years. While Dave never sought the spotlight, if you looked at a list of who was involved in making a positive impact on Three Rivers, you would usually find his name.
He leaves to treasure his memory his loving wife of nearly 65 years; his three children, Gail Buscher, Jim (Donna) Stuck, and Barb (Rick) Allen; seven grandchildren, Chris (Laura) Buscher, Corinne (Sean) Laughery, Cathy Buscher, Laura (David) Posey, Bryan (Nicole) Stuck, Darci (Derek) Ridge, and Danielle (Justin) Montgomery; and eighteen great grandchildren. His gentle spirit, willingness to see the best in others, and his unwavering faith in God have made a lasting impact on each of us and all who knew him.
A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held on March 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Church, Three Rivers, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Three Rivers Area Community Foundation at PO Box 453, Three Rivers, MI 49093.
