Debra Rae Simon

Debra Rae (Radke) Simon passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.

Debra was born in Grand Rapids, MI on July 6, 1950. She was the loving daughter of Arthur and Wanda (Christensen) Radke. 

Debra was a very active woman who loved all sports. She coached and played softball, loved tennis, golf, basketball, pickleball, water volleyball, etc. She spent her working career in retail management until her and her husband retired to Lakeland, FL. There, she was involved in her community, helping run the CAP program. Family and grandchildren were her life. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and entertaining.

Debra is survived by her daughters Dawn (Ron) Sleeman, Denise Majdan, step-son Earl Simon Jr., brother Kevin (Bernadette) Radke, sister Sue (Fred) Mark, grandchildren Nick Sleeman, Ashley (Matthew) Gansen, Alec Majdan, great grandchildren Layla, Leo, Isaiah, Henry, 2 step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Debra was preceded in death by her husband Earl Simon, parents Arthur and Wanda Radke, sister and brother-in-law Penny (William) Flesher, and step-grandson. 

Debra was a strong woman, loving mother, grandmother, and great friend. She will forever be in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 1 to 4PM at 824 Thomas Street, Plainwell, MI 49080. Lunch will be provided (casual). A private burial will take place at Fort Custer where she will be laid to rest.
