Devon Louise Deryke, 75, of Kalamazoo, MI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. She was born in Kalamazoo on September 23, 1948, to the late John and Lucy (Merrill) Deryke.
Devon is survived by her three devoted sons: Anthony C. Morey (Karen), Troy J. Morey (Petra), and Thomas L. Morey; cherished grandchildren: Phillip Morey (Martha), Kristyn Bober (Joe), Zachary Morey (Shay), Cullen A. Morey, Chloe D. Morey, Winston M. Morey, fourteen great-grandchildren, and her brother: John D. Deryke.
Devon, known affectionately as "Dee," dedicated over 30 years of her life as a Cardiac Care nurse at Borgess Hospital. Her passion for caring extended beyond the hospital walls, as she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dee had a special place in her heart for animals, adopting many cats over the years.
Dee found joy in her travels to Ireland and cherished the countless shopping trips shared with friends and family. She possessed a beautiful singing voice and shared her talent at church events and weddings. Dee's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories.
In her final days, Dee was under the compassionate care of Hospice, surrounded by the love of her family. Special gratitude is extended to her caregivers, Lily and Andrew, whose dedication and kindness went above and beyond, providing Dee with comfort and support.
May she rest in eternal peace, her spirit forever alive in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
