Donald Brockway

BROCKWAY, Donald Scotts Passed away suddenly Oct. 12, 2010 at Bronson Hospital. He is survived by Dolores, his loving wife of 62 years. One of six children, Don was born Oct. 30, 1927 in Brady Twp. to Omar and Ines Brockway. Don was preceded in death by sisters, Donna and Margaret and is survived by a brother Lyle of Grand Rapids, and 2 sisters, Mary of Schenectady, NY and Beatrice of Portage. Don was a graduate of Vicksburg High School and was a veteran of the US Navy. Shortly after discharge from the service, Don returned home and married Dolores on Nov. 12, 1948. To their union were born four children, Dian, Steven, Thomas and Sharon. Don was preceded in death by Dian in 1988. In addition to three children, Don is survived by eight grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Don was employed by Consumers Energy for 38 years, retiring in 1986. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday Oct. 18, 2010 at Lakeland Reformed Church Sprinkle Rd. in Vicksburg. Family will receive friends at 6pm followed by the service at 7:30pm.
