Donald Chucta

Donald Chucta age 83, of Jones, MI passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014.

He was born July 15, 1930 in Chicago, IL the son of Michael and Anna (Hlivyak) Chucta. On March 7, 1953 he married Elizabeth G. Kleinhenz who preceded him in death in 1992.

He was a Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War and enjoyed telling stories about his military service and the traveling he and his wife Betty did during their years together.

Surviving are three sons, Charles (Pam Carpenter) Chucta of Texas Corners, MI, David Chucta of Jones, MI and Steven (Sheila) Chucta Galena, Ohio; 2 sisters-in-law Phyllis Chucta of Ohio, and Marie Kleinhenz of Taylorsville, IN; brother-in-law John Surach, Sr. of Leesburg, FL; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (Gene & Mike) and one sister, Lavern; sister-in-law Patricia Surach; brother-in-law Charles Kleinhenz.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 1 P.M. Saturday, May 24, 2014 in the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, May 24, 2014 in the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Poe’s Cemetery, Jones, MI with Military Rites by the Marcellus V.F.W. Post 4054.
