Donald E. “Butch” Dalman, of Fulton, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the age of 79. Don was a beloved husband, father, and friend. Don was born on February 15, 1945, in Vicksburg. He was the son Donald P. and Mildred (Huntington) Dalman.
A proud graduate of the Class of 1963 from Vicksburg High School. Don was an active and spirited student who excelled in football and was involved in the Future Farmers of America (FFA). Following high school, he embarked on a fulfilling career that began in farming and transitioned to Globe Construction, where he devoted over 20 years. Don then worked for the Kalamazoo County Road Commission for another 20 years before enjoying his retirement, which allowed him to spend more time in his garden.
Throughout his life, Don was renowned for his honest and hardworking nature. Those who knew him often remarked on his sense of humor, his honorable character, and his unwavering devotion to his family. Don cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and took immense pride in his family. On August 20, 1988, Don married Kathy (Galbraith) and together, they created a loving home that welcomed family and friends alike.
Don was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. He took on the role of “neighborhood watch”, with his dog Molly. They never missed a day driving around checking on things around them.
Don Dalman's legacy is one of hard work, dedication, and love. As family and friends gather to remember him, he will be profoundly missed but cherished in their hearts and memories. His spirit will continue to live on in the lives he touched and inspired throughout his time.
Don is preceded in death by his parents: Donald P. and Mildred (Huntington) Dalman; and his brother: Steven Dalman.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathy; four children: Kathleen (Ruben) Dalman, of Portage; Daniel (Victoria) Dalman, of Scotts; Timothy (Nicole) Dalman, of Scotts; and Derek (Elisha) Dalman, of Zeeland; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his four siblings: Richard “Hub” Dalman, of Scotts; Bonnie (Dave) Gorham, of GA; Linda (Tom) Campos, of Bangor; and Judy Reynolds, of Kalamazoo.
A memorial service will be held at the Scotts Community Center, 8450 South 36th Street, Scotts, MI on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 at noon.
