MACPHEE, Donald F. Kalamazoo Donald passed away Saturday afternoon, Aug. 2, 2014 at Park Place Assisted Living. He was born January 25, 1922 in Beaverton, Ontario, Canada, the son of Angus and Hilda MacPhee. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marjorie Giddings and his wife of 68 years Averil (Harrison). Surviving are four sons: Larry (Doris), Daniel (Deborah), Randall, and Timothy (Brenda), brother Douglas MacPhee and sister Doris (Max) Giddings. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Donald served his country in the US Army during WWII as a radio operator and received a purple heart. After the war he became a carpenter. He was an avid ham radio operator. Cremation has taken place. Services for Donald will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or a charity of your choice.
