Donald J. Seelye

Donald J. Seelye, age 66, of Marcellus, MI passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 at home.
He was born July 9, 1951 in South Bend, IN the son of Andrew F. and Theresa I. (Wohlfert) Seelye. On June 10, 1972 in Mishawaka, IN he married Patricia Ann Richards who survives.
Don served in the United States Navy for four years and received the National Defense Service Medal. He also served in the Army National Guard. He was formerly employed in the trucking business for most of his life. Don volunteered for 22 plus years for the Marcellus Fire & Ambulance Department, serving as the Ambulance Director at one point during his service. He was also a deputy for the Cass County Sheriff Department and served as a reserve deputy at a later time.
Surviving besides his wife Patty is his mother, Theresa Seelye of Marcellus; one daughter, Michelle Henson of Colorado; one son, Heath Seelye of Marcellus; three grandchildren, Katelyn Seelye, David Seelye and Peyton Henson; one sister, Linda (Randy) Blight of Livonia and one brother, Allan (Barbara) Seelye of Decatur, MI. He was preceded in death by his father Andrew Seelye and an infant brother Michael.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus. Memorial services will immediately follow at 11 AM. Burial of cremains will follow at Marcellus Cemetery.
