Donna Lee Wright

Donna Lee Wright of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the age of 80. She was born on March 11, 1942, in Manistee, MI the daughter of Donald and Violet (Blundell) Stewart.

With a heavy heart, the family says goodbye to their Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and Friend. Donna helped enrich the lives of everyone that she loved. She spent a lifetime of service to her Family and Friends, always guiding us with Compassion and Loving Acceptance of our many challenges and demands.

Some of her greatest pleasures in life were her Tuesday dinners with the spaghetti club, Michigan Football Games, watching the Tigers from her favorite chair, traveling with her beloved husband Charlie, and hosting “Fun Days” on the Lake.

Donna was preceded in her passing by her husband: Charles Wright, her parents: Donald and Violet, her daughter: Lisa and her son: Thomas, her sister: Nancy (Marty) Stidham and brother: Gary (Jackie) Stewart.

Donna is survived by her daughters: Michelle (Robert) and Stacy; granddaughters: Tesla, Cora (Aaron), Chloe (Tyler) Tempco, Lily and Alissa McKenna; great-grandson: North; and siblings: Susie (Phil) Johnson and Al (MaryJo) Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with the family’s wishes cremation has taken place and a public time for visiting with family and friends will be held at Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Homes and Cremation Society, 5975 Lovers Lane, Portage, MI 49002 on Saturday, July 23, 2022, beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Donna will be laid with her late husband during a private committal service at Hope Cemetery in Texas Twp, MI.

Donna gave her time to the Gospel Mission to help serve those in need. Memorials made in Donna’s name may be directed to the Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
