Doreen was a beloved grandmother and great-grand mother. The kids share so many memories of her making homemade crafts like soap candles and sugar yarn eggs. She taught many how to swim and have fun in the water. Camping and making fires were top of the list of fun things to do with Grandma. Also, many learned to cook cube and pepper steak (an old family recipe) and her secret peanut butter fudge that melted in your mouth. Doreen loved good old country music and to dance. She loved her garage sales and always shared special treasures with her children and grandchildren (whether they wanted them or not!!). She’s known for the best St. Patrick Day Corn Beef and Cabbage!
She loved her family, friends, and community. She extended her home, belongings, and time to those in need. She was a volunteer at Twelve Baskets Food Bank in Portage, Michigan for several years.
She will be missed by all, including her beloved dog; Willie.
