Doris E. Briggs

Doris E. Briggs passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 3, 2022, at the age of 94.  Doris was born on August 12, 1927, to Lantie and Anna (Berndt) Miller.  Doris worked at Gibson’s until they closed then went to work for General Motors and retired from there in 1993. She loved her flowers, and she was pool shark.  She began at 17 and was still shooting pool at 90 years old.  In the earlier days Doris enjoyed golf and darts. She was a member of the VFW, the Moose and the Eagles.

Doris is survived by her children: Monty (Kat) Skinner of Denver, CO, Jody (Dave) Bienz of Gun Lake, MI, and Julie Noneman of Portage, MI; 7 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her 4 brothers.

Visit with family and friends on Friday, July 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Avink McCowen Secord Funeral Home; Portage Chapel: 5975 Lovers Lane in Portage. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Mount Ever Rest Memorial Park South.
