Laverack, Doris Mae 11/23/1927 – 9/28/2020 Kalamazoo, MI On Monday September 28th, 2020 Doris Mae Laverack passed away at Alamo Nursing home in Kalamazoo MI at the age of 92 peacefully in her sleep. Doris was born on November 23, 1927 in Kalamazoo MI, to Monroe Miller and Mae (Taylor). She was a graduate of Kellogg High School in 1944 and began working at the Parchment paper plant soon after. It was during her employment when she met the love of her life Samuel Laverack. Sam and Doris were united in marriage on July 3, 1948. Doris and Sam enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. They had a group of friends also with young growing families that would travel and camp together in the summertime. Later in life those same friends enjoyed traveling together to exotic destinations such as the Bahamas after their children had left the nest. They also enjoyed playing golf in the summer and bowling in the winter. Doris was preceded in death by her three brothers, and her husband Samuel Laverack in 2006. She leaves behind her dear Sister Shirley (Miller) Churchill, Mark and Marcia (Laverack) Bommerscheim, Bud and Carol (Laverack) Gilbert, Wayne and Sue (Lecus) Laverack, 7 Grandchildren, and 11 Great grandchildren.
