Dorothy Edna McCoy

Passed away June 10, 2016. Dottie was born May 21, 1933 in Monroe, MI the daughter of Leo and Edna (Straub) Diehl. She was a 1955 graduate of the University of Michigan Dental Hygiene School, worked 35 years for various local dentists, member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, University of Michigan Wolverines and a long-time supporter of Portage athletics. She married Thomas McCoy Sept. 24, 1955, who preceded her in death in 2009. Also surviving are two daughters: Amy McCoy Burch of Portage and Pamela (Thomas) McLean of Plymouth, five grandchildren; Stacy Burch-Hughes (Kyle), Kelsey Burch, Alexander Burch, Madalyn McLean and Allyson McLean; and a brother, Robert Diehl. At her request cremation has taken place. Family visitation will be held 10 AM, followed by an 11 AM memorial service on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Portage, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Church or to the charity of your choice.
