Dorothy Vaughan

VAUGHAN, Dorothy Mattawan Passed away Aug. 17, 2011 at her home. Dorothy was born May 26, 1923 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Kemp and Jennie (DeLeeuw) Terpstra. She attended Calvary Bible Church for the last 18 years, retired from J.C. Penney after 35 years as an administrative assistant. Surviving are 3 daughters; Linda Vaughan of Kalamazoo, Beverly (Joe) Isaac of Parchment and Cynthia Higley of Mattawan, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a sister; Jennie Rabb of Kalamazoo. Proceeded in death by her husband, Kenneth C. Vaughan, 2 sons; Kenneth Edgar Vaughan and Kenneth M. Vaughan, 6 brother and sisters and son-in-law; Jim Higley. At her request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday Aug. 20, 2011 at the Calvary Bible Church on 855 S. Drake with Pastor Brian Lutz officiating. Interment of cremains will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at 10am Monday Aug. 22, 2011. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
