Dovie Rice

Dovie Rice, of Kalamazoo passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the age of 73. Dovie was born on March 1, 1952, in Plainwell, MI. She was a graduate of Otsego High School. On November 11, 1973, she married the love of her life, Charles Rice.

Dovie loved gardening and had a love of animals and took many strays in over the years. She carried a friendly smile and always had a kind word for everyone. She was someone you could go to talk about anything. And if you were fortunate, she would even have one of her specialty cheesecakes available to share over conversation.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Charlie; one sister: Toni Holmes; sister-in-law: Jean Conner; brother-in-law: Tim Rice and nieces and nephews: Jamie, Jason, Josh, Chris, Jeffrey, Della, Ronda, and Angie. She also is survived by her special friends that took many trips together: Shelby, PJ, and LuAnn; she was a “special mom” to Jolie and Abbie and to her special pet cat “Leroy Brown”.

Dovie has been cremated and there are no services schedule at this time.
