E. Lloyd Ludwig

E. Lloyd Ludwig passed away peacefully on August 22, 2019. Lloyd was born November 16, 1926 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Cleon and Cora (Bupp) Ludwig. He was the 6th out of 7 children. He resided in Grand Rapids, Holland, and finally Kalamazoo. Lloyd had several jobs including as a gas station attendant, Sutherland Paper Company, and finally 21 years at The Upjohn Company. On June 14, 1959, Lloyd married the love of his life Roslyn E. Meinel. In 1960, he moved his family to Portage and has lived here ever since. Lloyd is survived by his daughter Noralyn (Joseph) Pridgeon, and grandsons Andrew and Mitchell, who he loved to spoil. He attended all of their band, soccer, scouting, and school functions. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh and joking. One thing he was most proud of besides his family and Buick, was receiving his high school diploma in 1978. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Kym Lloyd (1986), four brothers David, Donald, Raymond, and Walter, and two sisters Thelma Hageman, and Arlene Hageman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. At his request, cremation has taken place, and a private burial will take place at a later date. The family will have a memorial service at 2pm, Sunday September 1, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church Kalamazoo, MI. Following the service the family will gather for cake, refreshments, and visiting until 5pm at the church.
