We are sad to announce the passing of Edward F. Pearson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Ed peacefully passed away on October 3, 2024 at the age of 79.
Born on April 6, 1945 in Kalamazoo, Michigan Ed grew up with a passion for music, sports and a deep love of community. After graduating from high school, Ed went on to serve his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, where he earned commendations for his dedication and courage.
After his service, Ed completed his BBA at Western Michigan University and began his 38 year career at Pfizer in the Fine Chemicals Division. After retirement, Ed volunteered at his church, Knights of Columbus, the Air Zoo, and worked on many election days as an official. After becoming a Master Gardner, Ed worked countless hours at the Five Senses Garden and other sites.
Ed is survived by wife Sally (Bliss) Pearson, son Casey Pearson, sister Rosemary Candelario, four grandchildren Nick, Mallory, Josephine, and Gavin. He was preceded in death by son E.J. Pearson, and parents Ruth and Bernard Pearson.
Ed will be greatly missed but his legacy of generosity and kindness with live on. He loved all his pet dogs and cats and asked that donations to be made to the Kalamazoo Animal Rescue in lieu of flowers.
