Elizabeth “Betty” DeJager went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 11, 2022. Betty was born on July 4, 1925, in Somers, Wisconsin to Reinder & Nellie (Fortuin) Dykstra.
Betty is survived by her children: Reynold (Angela) DeJager, Janet (Tom) Grassmid, Mary (Randy) Bouman, Karen (Rick) VanDenBerge, Laura (Rick) Schuurmans, Paul (Karen) DeJager; 23 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 3 yet to be born as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eldon; her brothers and sisters-in-law: Reynold (Mary) and Norbert (Lois) Dykstra; granddaughters: Jennifer Grassmid and Racheal (VanDenBerge) Rice; her grandson Seth DeJager and her great granddaughters: Harper and Emerson Bouman
Betty grew up in Racine, Wisconsin and also lived in Washington, Waupan, Wisconsin and Michigan. She was a woman of deep faith and loved to study God’s Word, the Bible. She loved her children and counted her grand and great grandchildren as priceless riches. She enjoyed being outdoors and you could often find her riding her bicycle.
Visit with family and friends on Wednesday, March 16, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the East Martin Christian Reformed Church; 1782 5th St. Martin, MI. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the same location.
Memorial donations can be made to East Martin Christian Reformed Church, East Martin Christian School or Crossroads Prison Ministries.
The family is being served by Avink, McCowen and Secord Funeral Home; 120 S. Woodhams St. in Plainwell.
