Elizabeth Jane Newhouse

On April, 12th, 2022, Elizabeth J. Newhouse went home to spend Easter with Jesus. She was born to Merrell and Louise (Cowels) Burd on February 25, 1928, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Elizabeth grew up in Kalamazoo and graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1946. She married John Newhouse on May 25, 1949. Three Children graced their life David J Newhouse, Sarah (Ray) Dendel and Timothy R. Newhouse. Elizabeth loved to teach Children in Sunday School and the Good News Club for over 60 years. She loved to tell stories of Jesus to everyone.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, ten grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; her sister Carol Tyler, sister in law, Esther Burd, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John; her brother Donald Burd, brother in law Richard Tyler, daughter in law Sarah Newhouse and one great grand daughter Anna Grace.

Please visit with family and friends on Tuesday, April 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Church of God at 112 Kalamazoo St. in Otsego.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
